What we have achieved!

What we have achieved!

We have outstanding projects throughout the UK and working as predicted. After our customers have experienced their journey with us, the common phrase is “it’s a no-brainer” and “it all makes absolute sense”. A common question from our clients is to ask why our methods have not been carried out before. This only proves that we are opening minds and achieving our goals.

Caring for your health and wellbeing.

Climate change is directly influencing the UK more than ever. Air pollution is increasing, summer are getting unbearably hotter, and there are higher risks of flooding in the UK. Sadly, “the UK built environment is currently responsible for 25% of total UK Greenhouse gas emissions” (UKGBC, 2022).

Traditional methods of construction have caused unsustainable impacts leading to significant problems and therefore, are no longer a suitable option. With support from the Building Regulations we must make a change before it is too late.

We use wood as our primary source of material, nature’s stroke of genius. This sustainable material is a natural and renewable source that just happens to absorb and store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, benefiting both people and the planet.

Our goal is to move away from using unsustainable materials that are currently used extensively within the construction industry, such as steel, cement and concrete etc. Therefore, we have turned to solutions such as wood for the future of homes within the UK.

So, what's in it for you?

Our timber is PEFC certified meaning we work to protect our forests by promoting only sustainable forest management. As a result, you can benefit from what the forests provide us now while ensuring these forests will be around for generations to come. For every tree we use, we plant a new one.

We take occupancy seriously especially when it comes to having a healthy lifestyle. Using wood can improve both our physical and mental health and wellbeing. Not only do they create a better environment in your home due to improved air quality, but are proven to enhance moods and reduce stress. We aim to create a stronger human connection with nature and how it positively impacts the way we feel.

DGNB

We comply with the DGNB Certification meeting their environmental, economic and sociocultural quality criteria's.

Production

The low energy consumption in the manufacturing of wood is another key aspect that differentiates wood apart from other building materials. It uses less power and produces clean energy rather than waste.

In addition to this, nothing in the production is wasted and most of the surplus material from our production goes to reuse and recycling. For example, all of our unused timber is turned into pallets which are used to heat the factory in the winter.

Energy Efficiency.

We have your solution.

Our approach is to save you from high energy bills through quality construction, air tightness and high insulation. The shell and core of our homes and buildings are constructed to a similar standard as a Passivhaus home.

The logic to this approach is that the less energy lost through wastage through the envelope, the less is needed to replace it. It is a simple equation to a hole in the bottom of a bucket scenario. So not only are we reducing our carbon footprint, but we are also saving costs to the pocket financially.

We currently target an EPC rating of Grade A and Grade A+. A great example is our client in Bedfordshire who currently enjoys a £100 a year energy bill for his 2 bedroom bungalow!

The Building Regulations are moving towards our methods and what we have been achieving for over 30 years. We are optimistic about providing the right solutions as we already meet the rules and targets of the Future Homes Standard 2025.

All our buildings are manufactured off-site to provide a tried and tested system that delivers reliability and consistency throughout the construction process.

Working under a perfectly controlled and managed environment.

Fast Track Construction

Once the utilities and foundations are up to DPC (Damp Proof Course), the shell and core of the building (with pre-installed windows) is very quick and efficient. The installation is a smooth process (including in wet weather) that takes less lorry movement than traditional build construction. Less time and transport means a reduced carbon footprint and a better overall solution.

Our approach to the timeline programme is that the internal finishes and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) can be started at a very early stage, therefore, the brickwork and external finishes etc. do not effect the critical path (the optimum route through the programme sequence) which helps to make the timeline programme more efficient.

To successfully design and build eco projects, we must also consider how they run. However, the traditional heating system with gas and fossils fuels etc. are no longer suitable and will soon be phased out. Therefore, our alternative approach is to use modern tried and tested systems to heat and power our homes and projects.
